Cadwallader Jones Iredell Papers, . 1856-1865

Cadwallader Jones Iredell was a captain in the 1st North Carolina Cavalry Regiment, Confederate States of America. The collection includes letters, 1862-1865, from Iredell while he was serving in the Confederate Army in Virginia, to his fiance, later wife, describing camp life, marches, and battles. Also included is an arithmetic notebook kept by Iredell at Alexandria Boarding School, Raleigh, N.C., 1856-1857.
